Have you planned your event yet to celebrate the 2017 International Epilepsy Day on 13 February? This global event is held annually on the second Monday of February to promote awareness of epilepsy.
Any activity, no matter how small, when combined with the efforts of individuals, groups and associations around the world, will collectively impact on how epilepsy is viewed. What you do to mark the day, in your own way, with the resources available to you, will make a difference to the 65 million people in the world who live with epilepsy.
Objectives of International Epilepsy Day:
- To raise awareness of the disease at international and government level as well as in the general public
- To strengthen the epilepsy movement by uniting epilepsy associations in a worldwide campaign
- To raise visibility on epilepsy and encourage discussion about epilepsy
- To provide epilepsy associations with a significant fundraising opportunity
If you or your organisation are planning an event to celebrate International Epilepsy Day on 13 February 2017 promote your event on the Irish Epilepsy Association’s website and social media.
In association with the 2017 theme – Putting Epilepsy in the Picture – the Association is asking everyone to share pictures on social media, using hashtag #EpilepsyDay
