A new EMS-equipped chopper, which has been leased to Australia’s largest aeromedical charities LifeFlight, will now support emergency medical services, in addition to search and rescue missions in Queensland.

“We are delighted to add to our global EMS fleet through this new partnership with LifeFlight,” according to the president of the global leader in helicopter leasing – Milestone Aviation Group Limited (Milestone), a GE Capital Aviation Services company.

LifeFlight (formerly known as CareFlight) has been providing rapid response medical care for 35 years to thousands of people each year across Australia. Milestone President Daniel Rosenthal described the partnership as reflective of their “commitment to provide unparalleled support” to EMS and SAR operators around the world.

“The introduction of this state-of-the-art Leonardo AW139 into our fleet marks an important milestone in our ongoing modernisation efforts, helping us to deliver our expanded services faster and more efficiently than ever before,” commented Ashley van de Velde, Director and CEO of LifeFlight.

“Milestone was creative and flexible in structuring a lease solution that ideally suited our needs, allowing us to introduce new technology to our RACQ LifeFlight Rescue fleet. We look forward to greatly enhancing our services to the people of Queensland – anyone, anywhere, anytime.”
